After extensive renovation work, the Goldenes Dachl Museum opened in February 2019 with a new special exhibition for the Maximilian anniversary year 2019. In the new exhibition, the life of Emperor Maximilian I is illuminated in a multifaceted way and from different angles.
The following media stations were implemented:
- The Ambraser Heldenbuch – a haptic-digital installation Visitors can leaf through the magnificent book virtually and receive interactive, animated information about the opened page.
- Digital station cenotaph – magnificent tomb to the court church – here visitors not only learn interesting facts and curiosities about the magnificent tomb, but can also depict the 24 reliefs, the highlights of the life and deeds of Maximilian and the House of Habsburg, in high resolution Look at the detail.

Furthermore, four relief plates were digitized and reproduced for the exhibition using 3D printing processes, and a selfie station was implemented for visitors.
