Egon Schiele – one of the highly esteemed representatives of Viennese Modernism – is the most famous former resident of Tulln in the international art world. The ROTARY CLUB TULLN is now offering an art prize endowed with € 10,000 at one of Egon Schiele’s creative sites, his birthplace Tulln an der Donau, Austria.

With this charity project, the ROTARY CLUB TULLN is pleased to invite Austrian artists, but also artists from abroad who live in Austria to make their artistic contribution to the theme „EGON SCHIELE – his person and his work from a contemporary perspective“. The ROTARY CLUB TULLN has set itself the goal of promoting contemporary artistic practices in discourse with current issues while at the same time providing humanitarian aid in accordance with its social principles. For over 35 years, this club has initiated social projects with many different activities and provided financial support to those in need.

The SCHIELE AWARD is an art prize that will be awarded every two years starting in 2022. It is also an opportunity for artists to present their work to a
wide audience. The choice of medium and technique is left to the participants themselves; every piece of art from graphic to digital works is welcome.

Contributions which are nominated by a top-class jury will be presented in a public sales exhibition at the Minoritenkloster Tulln in autumn 2022. There will be three artist prizes awarded at this event. The net income of the SCHIELE AWARD 2022 will benefit families in need.

Artistic contributions can be submitted between December 2021 and May 2022. For further details and conditions of participation please follow this link:
